Why I Love This Recipe

After the holiday season filled with heavier meals, this smoothie really hits the spot. It’s light, refreshing, and nourishing without feeling restrictive. I’ll swap this in for breakfast, lunch, or even a light dinner when I want a simple reset that still keeps me full and energized.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk

  • 1 packed cup baby spinach

  • ½ small green apple

  • Juice of ½ lemon

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds or ground flaxseed

  • Handful of ice

Optional add-ins:

  • ¼–½ avocado (for creaminess and staying power)

  • Pinch of sea salt (balances the greens)

Instructions

  1. Add everything to a blender.

  2. Blend until smooth and bright green.

  3. Taste and adjust—more lemon for brightness, more ice to keep it light.

Notes

  • Naturally low sugar and easy to digest after heavier meals.

  • Works well as a quick breakfast, light lunch, or reset-style dinner.

  • Toddler-friendly tweak: use more apple, skip the lemon, and blend with extra almond milk for a milder, slightly sweeter version.
