Why I Love This Recipe

A lighter take on the classic margarita—no sugary mix, no extras. Just fresh, clean ingredients that let the tequila and lime shine. It’s crisp, refreshing, and easy to whip up for a quick happy hour at home.


Ingredients

  • 2 oz silver tequila

  • 1 oz fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)

  • 1 oz orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)

  • 1 teaspoon light agave nectar (optional, to taste)

  • Ice

  • Salt for rim (optional)

  • Lime wedge, for garnish


Instructions

Prepare the Glass

  1. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass.

  2. Dip the rim into salt (optional).

Mix the Margarita

  1. Fill a shaker with ice.

  2. Add tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, and agave.

  3. Shake well until chilled (about 15 seconds).

Serve

  1. Strain into the prepared glass over ice.

  2. Garnish with a lime wedge.


Notes

  • For an even lighter version, skip the agave and add a splash of sparkling water.

  • Use fresh lime juice—it makes all the difference.

  • If you like yours a little sweeter, adjust the agave to taste.
