Why I Love This Recipe

This cocktail is the perfect start to a Greek-inspired meal—light, citrusy, and just a little unexpected. The ouzo gives it a subtle anise flavor that feels special without being overpowering. It’s simple, smooth, and such a fun twist if you're looking for something new to serve guests.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz ouzo

  • 1 ½ oz vodka (or gin, if preferred)

  • ¾ oz fresh lemon juice

  • ½ oz honey syrup (see notes)

  • Ice

  • Lemon twist or rosemary sprig, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a shaker filled with ice, add ouzo, vodka, lemon juice, and honey syrup.

  2. Shake well until chilled—about 15 seconds.

  3. Strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass.

  4. Garnish with a lemon twist or rosemary sprig.

Notes

  • Honey syrup: Combine equal parts honey and warm water. Stir until smooth. Store in the fridge for up to a week.

  • For a slightly lighter version, you can add a splash of water to the shaker before mixing.

  • This pairs beautifully with whipped feta, spanakopita, or any appetizer with herbs and citrus.
